Home Minister Pradipsinh Jadeja on Monday approved 17 new police stations at police inspector, police sub-inspector level and five new police outposts in five districts of the state. He also said that recruitment process for about 15,000 posts in Lok Rakshak Dal-LRD in the state police system would start in November.
After the year 2013-14, there has been no recruitment in the police in Lok Rakshak Dal-Nidd. After the controversial resolution of the General Administration Department, millions of youths who want to join the police service due to the Covid19 global epidemic have been given new hope.
Home Minister Pradipsinh Jadeja said the government was determined to complete the recruitment process that had stalled in the police system due to the Covid19 epidemic. The Home Department, Recruitment Board is preparing for the recruitment of 15,000 LRDs in November after the Diwali vacation.
Due to the growing population and commercial migration of citizens in Gujarat, 1901 posts have also been sanctioned for new police stations and outposts in the existing areas for sound management of law and order. Home Minister Jadeja said that 18 new police stations sanctioned at a cost of Rs. 3.15 crore and 3 outstation post upgradations in Titoi outpost in Aravalli district have been upgraded to police inspector level. While in Banaskantha, Palanpur, Amirgarh, Navsari’s Vijalpore, Valsad in rural Valsad, Pardi, Dungara have been upgraded from Sub-Inspector-Ujain to Ain-level stations.
After the e-Lokaparna of the new police station in Madhapar, the Home Minister said that it has been made operational in Kutch keeping in view the development of transportation, restaurant, banking and tourism sectors. Apart from Kutch, five new police stations have been sanctioned in Surat city, three in rural areas, four in Vadodara city, three in Rajkot rural and two in Bharuch district.
